This is the latest and, in our opinion, the best laser treatment available using water, a light beam, only topical anesthetic, and no shots. It can comfortably correct soft tissue problems in and around the mouth that adversely affect orthodontic treatment quality, comfort and timeliness. Examples of possible Waterlase uses are:

1. Sealing and rapid healing of canker sores, apthous ulcers, cold sores, and other uncomfortable oral lesions that may occur during (with or without braces). The treatment is amazingly fast.

2. Removal of excess gum tissue around individual teeth.

3. Uncovering of teeth delayed in their eruption.

4. Removal of the frenum (excess fibrous gum tissue) between front teeth or the frenum that may be restricting tongue function.

If the Waterlase Treatment can be of benefit to you during or after orthodontics, we will explain how it can be scheduled. Since Waterlase is not included in your orthodontic treatment fee, we can assist you with finances, including, dental insurance claims. You will always have the option to discuss this with your dentist or periodontist, as they may be able to provide a similar service to you.
